Twenty years in marketing, and a habit of building things that don’t exist yet.

A chai tea company stocked by the country’s biggest organic wholesaler, built at nights around a full-time job. A bilingual children’s book written because there were no good ones available. A propensity model that told BMW which customers were about to need a bigger car. And now an AI agent for the local businesses that agencies price out.

Spun, an AI agent that runs in WhatsApp

I spent years watching high streets empty out. Businesses people relied on closed because they couldn’t afford agency fees to tell anyone they existed. Spun is the tool those owners deserve: it audits their Google Business Profile, writes and launches their ads, collects reviews from customers they’ve just served, and reports back in plain English every Monday. Built solo: product, platform integrations and go-to-market, and launched in August 2026.

A Spun conversation on WhatsApp: Spun audits a dental practice's Google listing, proposes a Google Ads campaign and review requests, and the owner approves both by replying.

Google OAuth verification

Approved for Adwords and Analytics, no unverified-app screen, no user cap.

Google Ads Basic Access

Live developer token on Spun's own Manager Account, cleared for real managed spend.

Meta business verification

Completed, with a production WhatsApp Business Account messaging the public directly.

Security audit

Passed with zero critical and zero high findings before launch.

ChaiChai

ChaiChai, two flavours, nationwide distribution

A consumer chai tea company I started in 2007 with two products brought to market: Organic Chocolate Chai and Organic Masala Chai, both Soil Association certified. The products were stocked by Suma Wholefoods, the UK’s biggest organic wholesaler, and distributed to organic retailers around the country.

I built it from the ground up with no external funding, around a full-time job.

The Story of the Bookmark

I wanted my son to grow up bilingual, and I couldn’t find anything worth reading to him. Everything was either too hard to follow or another retelling of a story he already knew. So I wrote one about a bookmark that goes on an adventure through a world of books.

I had it translated into the second language and illustrated by Anisa Abdur Rahman Quraishi, then self-published it. He’s enjoyed it for years, which was the whole point, but it also stands as the clearest example of how I work. If the thing I need doesn’t exist, I make it.

Strategy & technical lead BMW

Knowing which customers needed a bigger car, before they did

BMW wanted to keep customers on comparable finance deals while trading their old cars in for new ones: sell another car, and stop the customer walking to a competitor at renewal. I helped devise a propensity model around getting the timing of the renewals right.

  1. 01

The first step was to find the markers. A new job, a house move, a new child; those life events that necessitate a bigger or newer car, all traceable from publicly available information.

  2. 02

The second step was to build the tracker. Software to watch those markers across the existing customer base and assemble a profile for each one.

  3. 03

The final step was to time the approach. A staged email series opening three months before customers' finance deals were due to renew, early enough to matter, late enough to be relevant.

Easily the most demanding campaign I’ve run, and the one I’m proudest of because the strategy and the technical build had to be right at the same time, and neither would have worked alone.
